Germany is the country of recycling. It is really nice to see that most people separate their waste into plastic, paper, biodegradables, glass, metal and general waste. Every household has according bins and the waste management pick them up at different times during the week. It sounds like a bit more effort to think about throwing things away, but on the other hand, once you get used to it, it’s the easiest thing to do.
Here, plastic, glass bottles and cans get recycled as they are labelled with a deposit symbol that gives some money back when you recycle it at the according deposit machines. That way people really do it and the system is financially backed up.
In many other countries recycling efforts are under way, like in Austria, where they most effectively recycle Tetra packaging and in South Australia, where they also already refund for recycling.
